What is the concept of Learn-Beyond the Box?

The Company’s strategy, informed by its 2018 stakeholder engagement survey, identifies the following priority areas:

  • Influencing and challenging learning outside the classroom policy and practice

  • Raising the profile of learning outside the classroom and promoting its benefits

  • Providing support for education and LBtB professionals, aiming for high quality learning outside the classroom that meets the needs of young people

  • Resource development to consolidate our stable financial position and generate additional funds to support our work

  • Lead the Learning Away legacy consortium and manage the delivery of the Learning Away legacy project in order to achieve its objectives.

These priorities will enable LBtB prioritizes resource development whilst enabling the organization to move forward to make an even bigger impact in delivering its charitable objectives. We will continue to focus on services which meet, identify the need and fulfill its objectives in campaigning for LBtB, promoting the benefits of LBtB and supporting the provision high-quality educational experiences that meet the needs of young people.

We believe that EVERY child should be given the opportunity to experience life and lessons beyond the classroom walls as a regular part of growing up. We also encourage and welcome children with all kinds of special needs. These experiences expand the horizons of young people, opening their eyes to the wonders of areas such as art, heritage, culture, adventure and the natural world. We ensure that more young people have access to these life-changing educational experiences by providing support on the ground, facilitating the sharing of best practice and promoting the benefits of LBtB in raising attainment and aspirations, reducing truancy and re-motivating those who are disengaged from their education.

What does LBTB do?

The LBtB aims are:

  • Providing support for education and LBtB professionals, aiming for good quality learning outside the classroom that meets the needs of children.
